What a Day!

It was an exciting weekend for people in LA when the shuttle “Endeavour” did its very last journey to the California Science Center where it will be on display for thousands to come. Many brave men have been on the trip into space with “Endeavour”. The 85t orbiter has made the trip 25 times. It was`time for a well-deserved retirement. The last journey has taken 3 days. Rolling through LA streets was not any easy task. About 400 trees had to be cut and hundreds of power lines had to be taken down. UNITED STATES it says on the side of the shuttle. A name there is reason to be proud of. No other country has ever undertaken a similar venture.

Hundreds of thousands have been lining the streets for “Endeavour’s” parade. Probably millions of pictures have been taken while the transport was guided around trees, light poles and house corners. The sheer dimensions of the logistics involved seem to be mind boggling.

Being an RVer to the South West I hope that we will be able to make the trip into LA one day to have a look-see at the shuttle.

  1. I think the only way we will get into LA to see the shuttle is if they first have a big fire drill & exit all the people & traffic out of the city first...:))
